![]() I don't really make use of all the tools in SILKYPIX. Whatever the realities, as a prospective paying customer, ungrateful or otherwise, I shan't be doing any of their legwork for them, that's for sure. I assume Lensfun are licensing the use of their DBase to Silkypix? In which case if I were the chief honcho at S/pix I would be insisting that they pull their collective fingers out and provided them with a fresh product rather than something that has been languishing on the back burner for 3 years. What's so special about Silkypix? in fact one could argue that all software is in beta, as it simply isn't possible to iron out all the bugs with each evolution. I have often used software that is 'in Beta', and fully understand the commensurate warnings provided. When they do that, the SILKYPIX devs will update SILKYPIX to support it. If you like Lensfun, then send a message to the developers to get them to finalize a release. What they are offering is the ability to use the stable version, which may be more than what those other products are offering. If the top tier software is using the beta version, your argument would be more valid. "at risk" doesn't mean customers won't contact you asking for support. It would be nice if they gave the user the choice of installing the Beta version 'at own risk' perhaps? Not very impressive they use a 3 year old database in a premium product vying to compete with the top tier in image software. I asked ISL about this, and they said as soon as it is a stable release they will update SILKYPIX DS Pro9 to support it. On the Lensfun website, it mentions that Lensfun 0.3.95 is an alpha release and not stable release. There is a newer database version 0.3.95 released in June this year, and which incorporates profiles for my camera (Nikon Coolpix P7800). It's a shame they are still seemingly using Lensfun's last lens profiles database version 0.3.2 released in November 2015. You also might want to open a support ticket about the performance issues. It can sometimes take 2-3 seconds on my iMac, depending on what I'm doing. But it never does, and when it finally does you're not even hungry anymore.ĥ-10 seconds seems wrong. It's like being in your favourite restaurant, hungry as hell and waiting for that top-notch steak to show up. And then the whole process repeats for each edit you do. ![]() When you have your display settings to normal rendering in SilkyPix - do you also have to wait for the preview to render? And it renderes small portions of the image as it goes and it takes about 5-10 seconds for the image to be rendered fully. If they could add GPU support, I would ditch LR in a heartbeat. I use Memory colors 2, add a bit of saturation and contrast and boom. Compared to all other converters I have tried (and I think I've tried them all) this one has by far the nicest tones and contrast with minimal effort.
